Anton Vincent, President of Mars Wrigley North America & Global Ice Cream since 2019, the largest subsidiary of Mars Inc., was born Anton van Leuwenhoek Vincent on January 22, 1967, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Dr. George Monroe Vincent, Chair of the Department of Education at Jackson State University (JSU) and Pearl Meeks Vincent, Associate Professor of Child Psychology at JSU. Anton had four brothers: George Monroe Vincent, Jr., Michael de Montaigne Vincent, Pierre Louis Vincent, and Edwin Tyrone Vincent. In his role, Anton oversees the strategic direction and operations of the company, leading a team dedicated to delivering high-quality products and driving growth in the North American and global ice cream markets.

Anton attended William B. Murrah High School in the city. He was a scholar and a Murrah Mustangs Basketball Team member, led by Mississippi Sports Hall of Famer Orsmond E. Jordan Jr.

Vincent’s academic path is evidence to his excellence. He graduated from Murray in 1982 and then enrolled in Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. There, he was part of the Eta Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and served as its Basileus. He was also a basketball team member. Vincent received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 1986. His pursuit of knowledge led him to earn a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. His leadership skills were evident as he served as president of the Black MBA Association, the Marketing Club, and the GSB President’s Council.

A large portion of Vincent’s career was spent with General Mills in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 2002 to 2018 in a variety of leadership positions, beginning in General Management and Marketing as president of Snacks Division, president of Frozen Frontier Division, overseeing over $2 billion in retail sales, and President of Baking Division, and assisted with creating a plan that brought about the $10 billion acquisition of the Pillsbury Company. After leaving GM, Vincent worked briefly in 2018; he served as chief executive officer at the global manufacturer of convenience foods Greencore USA, Greencore Group plc. Later, he boarded the $22 billion Fortune 100 company International Paper in 2021.

In 2023, Vincent was the keynote speaker for the HBCU Jackson State University graduate commencement ceremony. During the ceremony, he not only shared his wisdom but also his wealth, giving $ 100,000 to JSU to establish The Pearl and George Vincent Educational Excellence Scholarship in honor of his parents. His philanthropic efforts, as noteworthy as his professional ones, have left a lasting impact on the community, inspiring others to give back. Vincent is a member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.

Anton Vincent is married to Lindy Medley Vincent from Cleveland, Ohio. They have three children: Chase Vincent, Dylan Vincent, and Peyton Vincent. His personal life is as rich as his professional one, and he has received numerous awards and accolades, including being inducted into the Murrah High School Hall of Fame, the National Confectioners Association’s Distinguished Service Award, General Mills’s Champions Award for business impact, and the Vanguard Award for volunteer services.
